New Blog: The Philippines Community

In partnership with a local pinay, we’re launching our second blog: The Philippines Community! Development and launching of this new blog took over a month of planning and research, but it is now live. It took me away from Retire Abroad quite a bit, but postings should become more regular for Retire Abroad.
The new blog focuses on life in the Philippines from the perspective of the common man and woman. It represents my philosophy about nations – that they are built on the backs of the little people and not the rich and famous and powerful. Hopefully, it will be a chronicle of life in the Philippines into the future.
The creative mind behind the heart and feel of the blog is Apple Espedido, a recent college graduate. Although her degree was in painting, her mind and eye fits well within my more visual approach to blogging. And I admit, her youthfulness gives this blog an entirely new dimension.
I actually hired her as a staff person to assist me in developing The Philippines Community, but I soon recognized her talent and have given her more editorial responsibilities, while I’ve taken on more of the technical and financial support for the blog. This has been a fun and exciting project. And I hope that it will develop a following.
Retire Abroad seems to be developing quite well in and of itself even though I’ve not posted much in the last month. There are a lot more organic visitors and it seems to be growing each day. I will keep writing for that blog, but at a reduced rate since it has reached what I consider critical mass already. More time will be spent on The Philippines Community blog.
Feel free to pay a visit to The Philippines Community! I hope you like it. And it represents my commitment to not having a dull and routine retirement! Enjoy!
